In order to support the Indonesian government’s program to achieve net zero emissions in 2060, PT Awina Sinergi International, which is engaged in sustainability and carbon neutrality in the fields of energy, food, waste management, health and forestry, entered into 3 Memorandums of Understanding to realize triple helix cooperation with the government , academy and the private sector in the midst of the G20 event in Nusa Dua Bali with Hokuriku Electrical Construction, Udayana University, Agra Surya Investindo, and Labuan Bajo Flores Authority Executing Agency, for the Energy Transition to create a Carbon Neutrality society.
The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding took place on November 13 and 14 at the Tri Hita Karana Forum, which took the theme Future Knowledge and Blended Finance for Better Business and Better World, as part of the G20 conference series at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center 2.
The first Memorandum of Understanding was between PT Awina Sinergi International and AAI Co. Ltd. Hokuriku Electrical Construction, and PT Agra Surya Investindo to invest in a Rooftop Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Udayana University, as well as a Feasibility Study of Off-Grid Battery Swap Electric Vehicle (EV) Station with Flexible Solar Panels at Udayana University.

The second Memorandum of Understanding is between PT Awina Sinergi International and the Labuan Baju and Flores Authority Executing Agency to realize a Carbon Neutrality Tourism Area in Labuan Bajo, with the potential for utilizing hybrid solar power plants starting at 5 MW and an investment value of around 32 million USD.
The two Memorandums of Understanding above were signed on Sunday 13 November 2022 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center
The third Memorandum of Understanding is between PT Awina Sinergi International and Udayana University, Hokuriku Electrical Construction, and PT Agra Surya Investindo regarding joint research for Off-Grid Battery Swap EV Station with Flexible Solar Panels, which was conducted on Monday 14 November 2022 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center.

Tri Hita Karana is an initiative to accelerate global investment collaboration for funding in the field of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) consisting of various parties, namely the government, the private sector, multilateral institutions, and philanthropy to make a better mix.
Udayana University, which is a state university in Bali, has an important role to play in supporting the green energy transition in Bali and accelerating the conversion of electric vehicles which will become a national pilot.
Hokuriku Electrical Construction Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Hokuriku Electric Power in Japan which provides electricity in the Toyama, Ishikawa and Fukui Prefectures, and Gifu, for the first time committed to investing in the field of solar power outside Japan. Meanwhile, AAI Co., Ltd. is a Japanese company that focuses on business development in the sustainable development sector in Asia, namely Indonesia and Bangladesh as well as in Africa.
Agra Surya Investindo is an Indonesian company committed to investing in green energy and electric vehicle supporting infrastructure. Meanwhile PT. Awina Sinergi International, which is part of the A-Wing Group Japan, is a company that focuses on bridging Indonesia-Japan relations, both in the government, private and academic sectors, especially Indonesia-Japan investment cooperation in the field of sustainable development and carbon neutrality.
“This collaboration with Japan is very valuable for us to ensure the credibility and quality of our renewable energy projects to be better,” said Harvey Tjokro, President Director of PT Agra Surya Investindo.
“We hope that this collaboration can become an example of cooperation between Indonesia and Japan which can help the government achieve its net zero emission target faster than 2060,” said Ananda Setiyo Ivannanto, Main Director of PT Awina Sinergi International.
“We want to bring our technology and experience from Japan to improve the quality of renewable energy projects in Indonesia so that they can become assets that can be utilized in the long term,” said Yano Shigeru, CEO of Hokuriku Electrical Construction.
“This collaboration is important to help Bali achieve the renewable energy mix target above the national average in collaboration with the Provincial Government of Bali,” said I Ketut Sudarsana, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University.
“This is our concrete step to make Labuan Bajo Flores a tourism destination that is environmentally friendly and carbon neutral. Hopefully this renewable energy investment can be realized and become a role model,” said Shana Fatina Sukarsono, Main Director of the Executing Agency for the Labuan Bajo Flores Authority.
These three memorandums of understanding are a manifestation of collaboration between academia, the private sector, and the government to support the acceleration of achieving the national and global renewable energy transition which is one of the main missions at the G20 Summit, which took place for the first time in Indonesia, namely in Nusa Dua Bali, with the theme Recover Together, Recover Stronger.
